Our first item for discussion was Ofgem’s consultation on a potential Significant Code Review (SCR) of electricity cash-out. Members were informed of Ofgem’s concerns regarding the current methodology used to charge for energy imbalances. It is looking into ways to more effectively split charges for actions taken for energy and system imbalance. If a SCR is undertaken it is likely to result in market redesign as Ofgem’s “narrow scope” for an SCR would be fairly significant. The forum will discuss this consultation further at the December meeting. read more of November 2011 meeting discusses the potential SCR of cash-out and Government subsidies for renewable energy ...
